Petit Macabou

Close to Grand Macabou beach, but offering an even wilder setting, Petit Macabou cove is a dream location for lovers of unspoiled nature. The immaculate sand of this cove is lined with lush vegetation, creating a striking contrast with the turquoise waters of the sea. It is true that bathers may be put off by the algae that often covers a large part of the shoreline, but they should not be put off. The beauty of the waters and the site are well worth the detour.

For hiking enthusiasts, Petit Macabou Cove is also an ideal starting point. The hike “la trace des caps” will take you through a 27 km long course, passing by the beaches of Cap Macré, Anse Michel, Trabaud, Salines, Moustique, before arriving at the Anse Caritan in Sainte-Anne. This route will allow you to discover the hidden treasures of the south coast of Martinique, while enjoying a breathtaking view of the sea.

We could say that the Petit Macabou cove is the little sister of the Grand Macabou, but it has its own personality. It is much more isolated and wild, which makes it an ideal place to escape the crowds and recharge your batteries. The undergrowth surrounding the cove is also an ideal place for family picnics, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

In summary, Anse Petit Macabou is a unique place that offers a wild and beautiful setting, with turquoise waters and immaculate sand. It is also the starting point of a hike that will allow you to discover the hidden treasures of the southern coast of Martinique. Don’t be put off by the seaweed that can cover the shore, because this place is really worth it.
