Anse à Prûnes, the hidden treasure of the Salines

Looking for a little adventure off the beaten track? Look no further than the beautiful beach of Anse à Prûnes, located just south of Grande Anse des Salines. This secluded spot is a haven for those looking to get away from it all. Just opposite Ilet Cabrits and its lighthouse, this beach offers shallow waters, long stretches of sand and plenty of shade under a pleasant undergrowth.

Read on to find out more about this hidden treasure!

What to expect from your visit

When visiting this discreet beach, be sure to bring all the necessities such as food, water and sunscreen. There are no vendors or stalls in the area, so it’s important to come prepared with everything you need.

You can get to the beach by taking a road that is half cement and half sand. In fact, this road follows the path of a hiking trail known as the “Trace des Caps”, which goes through some undergrowth before reaching the beach. Once there, you can enjoy its turquoise waters and its large open space, ideal for relaxing or playing in the water.

The nearby Ilet Cabrits lighthouse symbolizes the southern tip of Martinique and offers a breathtaking view from afar. To make your visit even more special, you can admire the “Table du Diable”, a large rock formation just off the coast.

L’Anse à Prunes offers you peace and tranquility in nature. With its seclusion from the hustle and bustle of the city and beautiful views stretching to the horizon, it’s no wonder many people enjoy this place.
So, if you’re ready to give a place that’s off the beaten path (a little) a try, head to Anse à Prûnes!

The “Trace des Caps”, which crosses the undergrowth, is the trail that connects the Savane des Pétrifications to Anse Trabaud.
